World of Blades — 100% Pure Organic Camelina Blade Oil
Premium 1 oz spray bottle. Food-grade. USDA Organic. Cold-pressed. Cruelty-free.
Protect your investment. Whether you own a hand-forged Damascus steel blade, a high-carbon steel kitchen knife, a stainless steel chef's knife, or a treasured cast iron skillet — this oil is your single most important maintenance tool. One small pump is all it takes to form a durable, invisible barrier against rust, oxidation, and corrosion.
🗡️ About This Oil
Camelina oil (Camelina sativa) is one of the most oxidatively stable plant-based oils available — far more stable than olive oil, coconut oil, or vegetable oil, which can go rancid on your blade and actually accelerate corrosion. Its naturally high vitamin E content and omega-3 fatty acid profile make it ideal for long-term metal protection. It is 100% food-grade, meaning it is safe for incidental contact with food-preparation surfaces.
✦ Key Features
- 1 oz precision pump spray bottle — delivers an intense, controlled stream; pump gently for a slow, precise flow of just 1–2 drops
- USDA Certified Organic — 100% pure, unrefined, extra virgin, cold-pressed
- Food-grade — safe for contact use on cooking surfaces; not for direct consumption or direct application to food
- Exceptional oxidative stability — resists going rancid, unlike common cooking oils
- Cruelty-free & animal-safe
- Origin: Brazil
✦ Ideal For
- Damascus steel blades and knives (essential — Damascus is high-carbon steel and must be oiled regularly)
- High-carbon steel kitchen knives and blades
- Stainless steel blades (light protective coat)
- Cast iron pans, skillets, Dutch ovens, and cookware
- Any bare metal surface prone to oxidation or rust
📋 How to Use — Blade Oiling
- Wear disposable gloves. Natural oils from bare hands accelerate oxidation on Damascus steel, carbon steel, and cast iron. Gloves are strongly recommended, especially until you are comfortable with the process.
- Prepare your work area. Lay down parchment paper, a dedicated oil-catch cloth, or a fabric specifically meant to absorb excess oil. Work away from surfaces prone to oil staining. A disposable apron is recommended to protect clothing.
- Apply oil sparingly. Hold the bottle upright and pump very gently — the spray produces an intense, focused stream. One to two drops is sufficient for a standard blade. Less is more.
- Spread evenly. Using a clean, lint-free cloth, spread the oil along the full length of the blade in smooth, even strokes.
- Allow to absorb, then wipe excess. Let the oil sit for approximately one minute, then gently wipe away any excess with a clean cloth. A thin, even coat is all that is needed.
- Oil after every use and any time the blade is touched with bare hands. At minimum, oil your blades once per month to maintain a protective barrier.
📋 How to Use — Blade Cleaning
- Rinse the blade gently with warm water. Never soak a Damascus or carbon steel blade.
- Dry immediately and thoroughly with a clean cloth — do not allow water to sit on the blade.
- Apply 1–2 drops of camelina oil using the pump.
- Spread evenly along the blade with a lint-free cloth.
- Store in a dry location, ideally in a blade guard or sheath.
📋 How to Use — Cast Iron Care & Seasoning
- Wear gloves — bare hands leave moisture and oils that promote rust on raw cast iron.
- Lay down parchment or an oil-catch cloth beneath the pan.
- Pump 2–3 drops of camelina oil onto the cooking surface.
- Rub the oil evenly across the entire surface, including the sides, bottom, and handle.
- Heat the pan on low for 5 minutes to allow the oil to bond to the iron surface.
- Allow to cool completely, then wipe away any excess oil. Repeat at least once per month.
📋 How to Use — Cast Iron Cleaning
- Rinse with warm water while the pan is still slightly warm — avoid soap, which strips seasoning.
- Use a stiff brush or chain mail scrubber to remove any stuck-on food.
- Dry immediately on the stovetop over low heat until all moisture has evaporated.
- While still warm, apply 1–2 drops of camelina oil and wipe evenly across the surface.
- Store in a dry place. Never store cast iron while damp.
⚠️ Important Notices
- For blade and cookware care only. Safe for incidental food contact on cooking surfaces. Not for direct consumption. Not intended to be applied directly to food items.
- Allergen Warning: Produced and packaged in a facility that processes peanuts and other tree nuts.
- Never handle Damascus steel, cast iron, or similar reactive metals with bare, ungloved hands.
