Product Description:
This beautifully hand-sculpted 3 Cross Church Nativity Ornament, made by New Mexican artist Juanita Bower, is NM True Certified and crafted from terra cotta clay. Featuring three turquoise crosses, the ornament depicts a traditional nativity scene with Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus. Each piece is carefully arranged and signed by the artist. This ornament includes a light bulb and a US 2-prong plug, adding a warm, festive glow to your holiday décor. Despite its intricate details, it is lightweight and easy to hang, making it a perfect addition to your Christmas collection.
• Dimensions: 4 1/2" W x 3 3/4" H x 2" D
• Material: Terra Cotta Ceramic with light bulb and US 2-prong plug
• Artist: Signed by NM True Certified Artist Juanita Bower
About the Creation Process:
Each Spirit of the Desert gift is handcrafted using terra cotta or white slip clay. The process begins with liquid clay poured into hollow plaster molds, which remove moisture, leaving a hollow shell. The clay is removed once hardened, then shaped, detailed, and fired in a kiln at 1600°F. This particular ornament is a unique piece with final touches added, such as the nativity scene with Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus.
Fun Fact(s):
• The use of turquoise crosses in the design symbolizes protection and spirituality, a common feature in Southwestern artistry.
• As an NM True Certified product, this ornament reflects the cultural and artistic traditions of New Mexico, crafted by a local artisan.
Practical Uses:
• Ideal for hanging near a Christmas tree or as a unique décor piece for holiday displays.
• Adds a touch of handmade craftsmanship to your holiday season, with the authenticity of NM True certification.
Care Instructions:
To maintain the longevity of your ornament, handle it with care when hanging/installing or storing. Avoid exposure to moisture and extreme temperatures. Lightly feather or micro-fiber dust.
